Efficient Reading

I've been working on ways to make reading easier, faster, more informative.  Here's my current setup

instapaper - save web pages for reading later, you get a text only version and can download to kindle

See also their site of interesting things people have bookmarked: www.longform.org

They have bookmarklets, but I just found the chrome extension for instapaper - browse to your heart's delight, skim but don't read, save the interesting stuff for a period of focused reading/research.

I'm not accustomed to using my kindle yet, but i think this strategy will make it a lot more useful to me...and save my laptop and phone batteries.
